At Aletheia Church we want to partner with and support what God is doing both locally and globally through various organizations and individuals who have been called to share the love and hope of Christ in specific contexts. Here is a current list of these organizations and individuals that we, as a church, financially and prayerfully support.
Local mission support

The mission of Mercy House is to provide food, clothes, and shelter to homeless families with dependent children in the Harrisonburg, Virginia area in a safe community while providing services to help overcome the barriers leading to homelessness.
AVA Care of Harrisonburg is a medical non-profit serving women facing unintended pregnancy since 1984.
global mission support
Compassion International advocates for children. Their mission is to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Aletheia church members sponsor children around the globe through Compassion International, which provides children with food, medical care and Christ-centered education. In addition, Aletheia has a special partnership with Compassion in Santa Marta, Colombia – many individuals from our church sponsor children in this city, and we regularly send groups there for short-term mission trips during which sponsors can meet their sponsored children and volunteer at the center.
Each October/November our church participates in Samaritan’s Purse “Operation Christmas Child” program which provides shoeboxes filled with gifts and hygiene items for children around the world. Each year it is our goal to donate at least 100 boxes!
Francesco & Claudia Arco (Acts 29 Italy / Avant Ministries)
Francesco and Claudia Arco have been national missionaries in Italy for about 10 years. They are currently working with Avant Ministries and Acts 29 (known as “Impatto” in Italy) founding a church called “Encounter with Jesus”. Much of their working centers around discipleship, pastoral care and evangelism. They also founded a local non-profit called “Mani del Maestro” (Hands of the Master) that is a tool in reaching out to the many needy people in their area of Genova, a city of about 600,000. For the past three years they have also ministered to victims of human-trafficking. If you are interested in receiving their newsletter they can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Katie works in Indonesia with IES, an international church in Indonesia, as their Community Development Coordinator. She works primarily in four slum communities in the Greater Jakarta Area with health and education programs that serve as bridges for sharing the Gospel. In addition, she works with various orphanages to develop spiritual and educational mentoring programs. Her desire is to serve the local church and mobilize Indonesian believers to be the hands and feet of Jesus to their neighbors.
Anonymous Workers, Middle East
Aletheia Church supports a married couple living in the Middle East who work with refugees fleeing persecution, war and poverty. They are part of a team that addresses refugees’ physical and spiritual needs by providing things such as food and clothing as well as English classes. Their desire is to minister to families in transition and share with them the good news of Christ.
